Hi, I’m Annette

I’m Annette, the artist behind Netty Paints.

I’ve always been drawn to colour, flowers and the little details that make everyday life feel beautiful. Painting gives me a way to bring those things together and turn them into something people can enjoy in their own homes.

My work is primarily inspired by flowers and the wonderful variety of shapes, colours and textures found in nature. But rather than trying to reproduce a flower exactly as it appears, I love interpreting it through colour, movement and expressive brushwork.

I want my paintings to feel happy, energetic and alive.

When someone tells me that one of my paintings has brightened their room, made them smile, or reminded them of a favourite garden, that means more to me than simply knowing they like the picture. That is what I hope my art can do.

Where Colour Became the Beginning

Netty Paints grew from a simple love of painting and a desire to share that love with others.

What started with paint, brushes and a fascination with colourful flowers has developed into a growing collection of original artworks and prints.

The name Netty Paints is personal, approachable and reflective of the artist herself. It isn't intended to feel like a distant art brand. Behind every painting is Annette, her ideas, her studio and the time she puts into creating each piece.

The collection continues to evolve naturally. Some paintings begin with an idea, some with a particular flower or colour combination, and others simply begin when Annette feels the urge to pick up a brush.

There is no single formula.

That freedom is an important part of what makes Netty Paints what it is.

Flowers are at the heart of Netty Paints.

Annette is fascinated by the way flowers can completely change the feeling of a space. A vase of bright blooms can make a room feel warmer, happier and more inviting — and she aims to capture that same feeling in her paintings.

Colour plays an equally important role.

Rather than always following natural colour combinations, Annette enjoys experimenting with bold tones, unexpected contrasts and expressive layers of paint. The result is artwork that feels inspired by nature without being restricted by it.

Inside the Studio

Welcome to Annette’s Studio

The studio is where the ideas behind Netty Paints become paintings.

It is a creative space filled with canvases, brushes, acrylic paints and, of course, plenty of colour. This is where Annette experiments, develops ideas, makes mistakes, changes direction and eventually finds the painting she wants to share.

A painting can begin quite simply — perhaps with a flower, a colour combination or something Annette has noticed in nature.

From there, layers begin to build.

Acrylic paint allows Annette to work quickly and expressively, adding colour, texture and detail as the painting develops. Some areas may be carefully considered, while others are deliberately loose and spontaneous.

The studio is not just a place where paintings are made.

It is where Netty Paints comes to life.
